Community engagement and localization work in DSI aims to empower local communities to actively participate in decision-making processes and shape their own development. It involves fostering partnerships, collaboration, and dialogue between community members, local organizations, and external stakeholders. DSI is committed to the grand bargain commitments, as well as the localization dimensions. The meaningful participation, however, is at the heart of our small contributions. The DSI has a strategic interest in involving communities in the overall project management process. In its awareness sessions, our events covered the concepts of children engagement, youth engagement, and citizen engagement in the overall development process. Few sessions were conducted in schools, as well as seminars and workshops conducted in-house. Through inclusive and participatory approaches, community engagement work ensures that development initiatives are tailored to the specific needs, context, and priorities of the local communities. DSI work also emphasizes capacity strengthening, knowledge sharing, and skills transfer to enable communities to take ownership of projects and sustainably manage resources. By prioritizing community engagement and localization, the DSI promotes self-determination, cultural preservation, and sustainable development that aligns with the aspirations and values of the local populations.
